Something to cherish

January 9, 2008 at 2:35 pm (Uncategorized)

People are always part of our lives. They come in for a reason, or just for a season. Friendships may be of the lasting kind that we treasure all our lives, or may be friendships that don’t really last. Friendships of all shapes, sizes and ages. Acquaintances, necessary friends. someone who shares the same wavelength, someone whom you could open your heart with, someone you could confide in.

A true friend sticks with you through the good times and the bad,
A true friend will say what you might not want to hear, but a true friend won’t stay mad…
A true friend looks from the inside out and doesn’t judge by a glance
A true friend will stick by you even when you take a stance…
A true friend loves you for who you are not what you could be…
A true friend should be cherished cause’ few exist you see…
A friend to love with… A friend to play with… A friend to be with… A friend to stay with… It is true that luck plays an important part in acquiring good friends. But it is up to us to see that the friendship does not fade into oblivion. Any relationship needs to be constantly worked upon and enriched from time to time for it to grow and flourish. It is so easy to take a friend for granted.

This is dedicated to my best friend Jon

This is really good! I really like it. I’m sure Jon doesn’t feel taken for granted after reading this. “A true friend will say what you might not want to hear, but a true friend won’t stay mad…” I really like this line and it’s so true. Another line I really like is; “A true friend should be cherished cause’ few exist you see…” It’s very true and I would rather have one TRUE BEST friend rather than a bunch of acquaintances and I feel sorry for the people who don’t have a true friend that they know will always be there.

that was great i agree with most
of the stuff in this and
that is nice that you dedicated it
    to your friend

Wow, that was pretty intense. I don’t really hear guys talk about their friends like that. It’s more masculine I guess, but that was really touching and just the fact that you dedicated it to Jon, that was sweet. Glad you have that kind of connection with him!

    Very cool, Andre.
I like that you and those who commented here are mature enough to see that talking openly about caring for someone is a sign of strength.
You remind us of important things–it’s so easy for us to become frustrated with those we love, but we need to remember that true friends see past those moments and stick by us.
I agree with Michelle, too–I’d much rather have one or two trusted close friends than a sea of aquaintances.
